Create a wide array of half day, full day or
numerous day excursions. Share your clients’ desires with Ex-Pat
Personal Tour leader Patricia Haskel Freund and she will create
a one-of-a-kind experience of Rome, Florence, or Tuscany.
Below is a sample of what your clients can enjoy:
Example of a Half day Ex-Pat Personal Tour in Florence,
Italy
Your clients will be met at their hotel by one of our P.h.d
Art Historian guides. The tour begins in Florence's central
Piazza della Repubblica sighting the historic significance of
its once central market and meeting place before the development
and construction of the main arch. A quick cappuccino at Paszkowski
or Gilli before we move down Via por Santa Maria and of course
a spotting and stroke of "Porcellino." Then an explanation
of the famous Medici family and their exstensive rule of Florence;
noting their former home Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza di Signoria.
Then as we approach the Ponte Vecchio we'll take a photo opportunity
of Ponte Trinta, Ponte Grazie and Corridoio Vasariano, moments
of window-shopping as we make a note of the blacksmiths, butchers
and tanners who once stood on the very same famous bridge. We’ll
spend a good while on Borgo San Jacapo exploring its specialty
shops. The tour continues through The Oltrano to meet some of
my favorite men in blue coats. From gilded mirrors to Castorina’s
friezes, everyone will find something they’ll want to pack in
their luggage. Last but far from least, we’ll refresh ourselves
with a handful of Florence’s finest acqua from Buontalenti’s
gargoyle in Piazza de’ Frescobaldi. The tour will end at Trattoria
del Carmine where your clients will have Patricia Haskel Freund's
recommendation of the spigola, fresh fish of the day or the
"delizioso" homemade pasta with porcini mushrooms.
Example of a Full day Ex-Pat Personal Tour in Tuscany,
Italy
You or your clients will be met at their hotel or closest pick
up point by their personal driver and van. Equiped with the
comfort of air conditioning for a hot summer drive, driver Alessandro
Pasca or one of his great team will take you south on the famous
Chianti wine road. Along the hour or so jaunt you can feel the
wind whispering through the olive trees, stop to take a picture
of the wisteria dropping off every gate or the famous Tuscan
cypresses. It is always postcard perfect. First stop is a look
at a centuries old Italian art form; Terracotta pots, urns and
other specialties. You will actually get a close up view on
master Carlo Chiti creating his unique masterpieces. Then we
move on to the famous Panzano in Chianti with its stunning views
of the Conca d'Oro Valley. You'll see the Badia a Passignano,
once a centre of the wealthy Vallombrosan order. Then, maybe
you will stop in to Carlo Fagiani. Known as the 'the cobbler
from heaven' you will get to see the working of another true
artist. Senor Fagiani makes all his leatherwear and shoes to
order. Finally, a really comfortable pair of shoes! Now, it
is time for some wine. The tour moves to the famous Villa Dievole,
home of Chianti Classico Dievole and the wonderful Mantecci
family. In this nine hundred year old vineyard, you will feel
like you have entered a "mutable cloud " as time in
Dievole is always and never the same. Enjoy a fantastic tasting
lead by the very knowledge Salvatore Mantecci and then lunch
in the garden with his mothers wonderful home cooking. We promise
that this will be a lunch you will always remember, and you
will want to tuck a bootle of Chianti Classico Dievole under
your arm, to have as a memory of your visit. As you begin your
return to Florence, we will stop in Monteriggioni, a gem of
a medieval hilltop town. Not only is this one of the best photo
opportunities of Tuscany, but you will have the chance to explore
this town built in 1203. Totally encircled by high walls with
fourteen heavely fortified towers built to guard the northern
bordres of Siena's terrority against invasion by Florentine
armies, you won't want to miss the Romanesque church, and numerous
craft shops and stores selling all local Chianti wines. Then
perhaps if energy and time permits, a quick stop in Impruneta
for what the locals claim to be the best gelato in Tuscany.
We would not want you to miss that!
